Reflector Metrology Measurements:

[Measuring a 4.5 meter antenna for 1800 data points]Metrology services can be made on your reflector at your site or at our facility in Massachusetts, USA. Many clients ask that their new reflectors be surveyed for surface accuracy, alignment of panels and positioning of the feed system prior to range testing. Such measurements can save much time and expense.

State-of-the-art laser trackers scan your reflector and report axis positions, RMS surface error, best fit focal length, vertex location and manufacturing or alignment defects such as astigmatism. Any reflector can be surveyed - parabolic, shaped or elliptical. Reflectors can be surveyed at all attitudes.

The laser tracker is the perfect tool for this. ARA / SEA  has many years of experience measuring and adjusting reflectors to comply to various specifications. Other antenna-related products can be measured easily, including reflector panel molds, jigs, etc. Please refer to the laser specifications below.

Measurement data is submitted to you in data files and in a variety of graphical presentations. The reports are clear and concise, specifying areas of concern and making expert recommendations. Graphics can include true shape relative to the design shape, for example.
