DUAL BAND 


C/Ku FEEDS

First introduced to the satellite communications industry in 1982, Seavey Engineering’s dual band antenna feeds are now the accepted standard. They simultaneously access all downlink signals from hybrid satellites.

Dual band feeds operate over the standard frequencies of 3.7 - 4.2 GHz in C-band and 10.7 - 12.75 GHz in 500 MHz bandwidths. Both two-port and four-port versions are offered with a wide range of options.

Seavey Engineering’s dual band feeds have been used on thousands of commercial and consumer TVRO antennas for many years attesting to the reliability and efficiency of the patented (see Note) design. Because of this success, mounting and interface adaptors are available for many reflector manufacturers’ standard products. Therefore, when ordering, please specify the reflector you plan to use.

Basic feeds use a concentric circular waveguide at Ku-band and an overmoded coaxial waveguide operating at C-band. Models with two ports use the patented polarization rotation probe system found on other Seavey Engineering feeds. A single small motor rotates the plane of polarization to match the satellite.

S/C/KU-BAND, S/C-BAND AND S/KU-BAND FEEDS

This feed family includes prime focus dual-band feeds operating in S/C-bands and S/Ku-bands as well as Tri-Band feeds operating in all three frequency ranges.

Tri-band feeds are a unique product of Seavey Engineering. They provide complete access to S-, C- and Ku-band communications satellites.

Several models having various polarization choices are offered. They range from two-port devices to five-port versions with all polarization possibilities. They find applications in Earth Stations used with ARABSAT and INSAT, INTELSAT and DOMSAT systems.

All of these feed systems feature high quality, sealed construction. Phase centers for all frequency bands are coincident. They are optimized for F/D ratios from 0.35 to 0.42. All S-band RF ports are Type N jack connectors. All C-band RF ports are CPR-229G and all Ku-band RF ports are WR-75 waveguide flanges. The following frequency bands are standard:

S-band 2.544 - 2.652 GHz
C-band 3.700 - 4.200 GHz
Ku-band 10.950 - 12.20 GHz

Model ESA-20-44C is a dual-band (S/C) feed. It is linear polarized in S-band and has two orthogonal circular ports in C-band. It accesses the ARABSAT and INTELSAT satellites. Overall length is 19.75 inches. Diameter is 8.75 inches and weight is 10 pounds. It is optimized for F/D ratios of 0.35 to 0.42.

Model ESA-20-1212 is a dual-band (S/Ku) feed. It is linear polarized in S-band and has two orthogonal linear ports in Ku-band. It accesses the ARABSAT and any Ku-band satellite. Overall length is 9.4 inches. Diameter is 8.75 inches and weight is 3 pounds. It is optimized for F/D ratios of 0.35 to 0.42.

Model ESA-20-120R is a dual-band (S/Ku) feed. It is linear polarized in S-band and has one linear port in Ku-band. The polarization of the Ku-band port can be remotely changed using a standard, patented probe servo motor. It accesses the ARABSAT and any Ku-band satellite. Overall length is 10.0 inches. Diameter is 8.75 inches and weight is 3 pounds. It is optimized for F/D ratios of 0.35 to 0.42.

Model ESA-20-124HCR is a tri-band (S/C/Ku) feed. It is linear polarized in S-band. There is one C-band linear polarized RF port and one linear Ku-band port. The polarizations of the C-band and Ku-band port are remotely changed using a standard, patented probe servo motor. It accesses the ARABSAT, DOMSAT and any Ku-band satellite. Overall length is 14.5 inches. Diameter is 8.75 inches and weight is 6 pounds. It is optimized for F/D ratios of 0.35 to 0.42
