ENG systems allow TV crews to send information from sites of fast-breaking news to studio or head end locations. Cameras send their signals either directly to the studio or by relay from a helicopter. Frequency allocations are in the 2, 7 and 13 GHz frequency bands. Most ENG users require polarization selection to optimize the link margin when at urban sites. The antennas may have manual or switch selection of vertical, horizontal, right-hand or left-hand circular polarizations.
Seavey Engineering antennas have been designed for use at all three ENG link locations - head end, helicopter and TV crew sites. They feature rugged, reliable construction and excellent antenna pattern and gain performance.
Head End Base Station Antennas Model 8521-800 - 18 inch x 36 inch Antenna with 2/7 GHz Four-Polarization State Feed. This antenna accesses the 2 - 2.7 GHz band and the 6.4 - 7.3 GHz band simultaneously and has separate remote control of polarization in each frequency band. It is designed to interface with any azimuth antenna rotator. Space is available within the feed housing for two LNAs, one for each frequency band. Antenna gain is 24 and 35 dBi in the 2 and 7 GHz bands, respectively.
Model 8901-800 - 48 inch Diameter Cosecant-Squared Antenna
With gains of 26 and 35 dBi, this antenna features a shaped elevation radiation pattern which is an inverted cosecant-squared shape so that the received signal level is a nearly constant function of the distance to the TV crew. This feature eliminates the requirement for a two-axis antenna positioner. RF functions are identical to the Model 8521-800 antenna described above.

This antenna operates in the 12.7 - 13.3 GHz band and radiates a beam 1.5° wide in elevation and 20° wide in azimuth.
Gain is 30 dBi. The antenna has a
two SMA RF connectors for vertical and horizontal polarizations. Replaceable
aperture window.
This antenna is identical to Model 9040-800 except at the azimuth beamwidth is 85° and the gain is 22 dBi.
Model 9436-800 - 2.4M
Shrouded Parabolic Antenna
This antenna is suitable for mounting on an elevation-azimuth positioner. It operates in the 2.3 - 2.6 GHz band
and is equipped with a remote polarization switch. Right-hand and Left-hand circular polarizations are switch-selectable.
The gain is 33 dBic and the beamwidth is 3°. The antenna features a replaceable fabric aperture radome.
Weight is 400 pounds. Survival wind is 125 MPH.
This antenna operates in the 6.4 - 7.3 GHz band and radiates a beam 2.5° wide in elevation and 20° wide in azimuth. Gain is 27 dBi. The antenna has a two SMA RF connectors for vertical and horizontal polarizations. Replaceable aperture window.
Model 9406-800 - 3.0 Meter Dual-band Shrouded Parabolic ReflectorThis antenna is suitable for mounting on an elevation-azimuth positioner. It operates in two frequency bands simultaneously. Both the 6.43 - 7.11 and 10.95 - 13.25 GHz bands can switch the polarization independently from vertical to horizontal. The gain is 43 - 48 dBi and the beamwidths are 1°- 0.6°. The antenna features a replaceable fabric aperture radome. Weight is 700 pounds. Survival wind is 125 MPH.
