For many years Seavey Engineering has specialized in the design, fabrication and testing of unique, highly portable communications antennas.
The following are examples of the many innovative antennas which are available as standard products.
These portable antennas are complete with reflector, feed system, mount and transit cases where applicable.
They are built using high quality construction, captive fasteners, quick-release hardware and accurate reflector panels.
Reflector panels are precision-aligned under real life field conditions.
Seavey Engineering portable Satellite News Gathering (SNG) antennas have now logged many years of productive use.
They have been carried to Mount Everest, to the Arabian deserts and to the far North. Other portable antennas are in use providing satellite data services.

Model AS72S-117140/A - 1.8M Portable Satellite News Gathering (SNG) AntennaThis C- and Ku-band antenna features
five-panel reflector construction, a hefty yet lightweight aluminum tetrahedral mount and four transit cases.
The antenna may be used as a 1.0M reflector by utilizing only the center panel. Many feeds can be provided including orthogonally
and co-polarized C-band and Ku-band units. In addition, diplexers are available for three-port Ku-band operation. For INTELSAT C-band use,
orthogonally circularly polarized feeds may be ordered. The antenna operates over standard satellite communications frequency bands and
can handle up to 1KW RF power. This antenna has been widely accepted by SNG crews throughout the world due to its easy portability,
reliable features and robust construction. |

Model 8725-800 - 1.8M SNG Van-mounted Ku-Band Antenna This innovative antenna is typical of custom portable antennas developed by Seavey Engineering. It mounts atop a Chevrolet Astro van. A three-axis antenna positioner is provided in which the elevation axis is used to fold the antenna down into a fiberglass fairing on the van. When folded, the overall height is reduced to a minimum. Full remote operation of azimuth, elevation and polarization is done with a controller within the van. The antenna is used for U.S. domestic satellite broadcasting in the 11.7 - 12.2 GHz and 14.0 - 14.5 GHz frequency bands with up to 750 watts RF power. |

Model AS72-72C - 1.8M DSCS Calibration Antenna This antenna has been designed for operation in the SHF Satcom frequency bands of 7.25 - 7.75 GHz and
7.9 - 8.4 GHz with orthogonal circular polarizations and very low axial ratio (1.0 dB). It is supplied with a
single-panel reflector and a transit case with removable sides. In use, the antenna may be employed as a boresight
antenna on an outdoor test range, as a secondary gain standard at an operational SHF communications site, or
as a tactical SHF communications antenna. The antenna features rugged yet lightweight construction. It provides reliable performance after hundreds of assemblies and
disassemblies. |
Model 9515-800 This highly portable, high gain 6-foot diameter 11-panel reflector is integrated with Seavey Engineering’s unique knockdown tetrahedral mount. A universal feed support ring can interface with a wide variety of standard feeds. The assembly becomes a multipurpose unit. It is supplied with the reflector, feed support assembly and transit case. Model 9515-804 utilizes a 4-foot, 5-panel reflector. Model 9515-803 utilizes a 3-foot, 5-panel reflector. |
