FILTERS & DIPLEXERS


Selected microwave filters are available from Seavey Engineering. These filters have been found useful in satellite communications work for isolating the receiver from the transmitter. They are available as standard products with no development required.

Model MFA-46 - Low-pass Filter
Pass-band 3.7 - 4.2 GHz. Insertion loss 0.25 dB maximum. Reject 5.925 - 6.525 GHz; isolation 55 dB, minimum. VSWR 1.15, maximum. CPR-229G waveguide flanges each end. Overall length 7.35 inches. Aluminum, brazed construction, fully sealed.

Model DFA-1214 - Three-Port Diplexer
Three-port device separates receive (11.7 - 12.2 GHz) and transmit (14.0 - 14.5 GHz) signals from common port. All waveguide ports WR-75 flanges. Insertion loss, receive, 0.35 dB, maximum - transmit, 0.40 dB, maximum. Isolation (transmit-receive in transmit band), 55 dB, minimum. VSWR 1.20, maximum. Sealed construction. Overall length 12.5 inches.

Model 8956-810 - High-pass L/S-band Filter
Isolates L-band transmitter from S-band receiver. SMB coaxial jack output, type N jack input. Insertion loss 0.05 dB, maximum in 2590 +/- 20 MHz passband. Rejects 1618 +/- 20 MHz with more than 35 dB isolation. Passband VSWR 1.15, maximum. 100 watts CW. Size 4 x 2 x 1 inches. Sealed, aluminum construction, suitable for airborne use.

Model 9385-506 - High-pass Waveguide Filter
Constructed as a simple waveguide-below-cutoff filter, this rectangular waveguide cavity passes 2.2 - 2.3 GHz with an insertion loss of 0.2 dB and rejects signals below 1.84 GHz by a minimum of 35 dB. It measures 3 x 2 x 18 inches and has two SMA jack RF ports.

Model 9106-860 - Broadband High Power 1:4 Coaxial Power Divider
This power divider handles a minimum of 2 KW average power and operates in the 325 - 525 MHz frequency band. The design uses a 3-step Tschebyscheff transformer. It has a 7/8 inch 50 ohm EIA common RF port and four Type N jack output connectors. It is fully sealed, is made of highly corrosion-resistant materials and can be pressurized to 5 psig. Overall length is 19.0 inches.
