SPECIAL FEEDS

Model OSA-77C
This feed has been designed for use with standard offset reflectors having 40° edge angles. It operates in the SHF SATCOM frequency bands of 7.25 - 7.75 (receive) and 7.9 - 8.4 GHz (transmit). Polarization is RHCP and LHCP, respectively. The feed can handle 500 watts CW. Axial ratio is less than 2 dB and VSWR is less than 1.4. Its aperture window can be pressurized to 0.5 psig. Dimensions are 2.5 inches diameter and 12.75 inches long.

Model 9802-800 - Special Dual-band Monopulse Feed for 4.5M Axisymmetric Reflector
The 1.452 - 1.492 GHz downlink feed receives Worldspace satellite signals and incorporates a five-element monopulse circuit. The 7.025 - 7.075 GHz uplink feed is circularly polarized and handles 500 watts CW. The monopulse circuit allows the antenna to accurately point to the satellite using the downlink signal null. Both feeds have coincident phase centers.

Model 9821-800

Model 9821-800
Similar in function to Model 9802-800, except for 2.4M and 3.8M offset reflectors.

Model 9820-800 - L-band (1.525 - 1.559 GHz) LHCP Patch Feed
This simple feed system is mounted to the vertex of a large C-band Cassegrain subreflector to downlink INMARSAT signals. It is 6.25 inches diameter and 1/4 inch thick and does not degrade the C-band performance.

Model 8913-800 - Broadband, Polarization-Switching Scalar Feed
Used as a high-performance prime focus feed for 12-foot reflector, this feed provides optimum aperture efficiency and low noise temperature. The exceptional bandwidth of 10.5 - 18 GHz encompasses many commonly-used frequencies. The scalar feedhorn is connected to a circular waveguide quarter-wave plate circular polarizer. A tapered rectangular-circular waveguide section is fixed to the feed supports. A 24 VDC motor and encoder rotate the scalar feed and the circular polarizer. In this way the polarization can be remotely changed to vertical, right-hand or left-hand circular polarization.

Model 8826-500
Designed to feed an offset rectangular reflector for a high power shipboard radar simulator, this innovative feed system consists of a pyramidal horn which uses the differential phase shift in the horn flare to create left-hand circular polarization. This design improves the RF power handling capability. It operates from 9.9 - 10.2 GHz with 75 KW peak power and 5 KW average power. The VSWR of the complete feed system is less than 1.15. Axial ratio is less than 2 dB. A low-loss, high pressure feed radome protects the system.
